Reconstruction of Ratnagiri Nagar Vachnalay

Board members and Arun Joshi have taken up a project to finish the reconstruction of this iconic library in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra.

Soon, this library would be completing its bicentennial. The history of this library’s establishment is interesting. During the British rule in the country, many of their officers were performing administrative duties in various parts of the country. Some of these officers had interests beyond their daily work in other fields as well. Therefore, they supported such institutions. Among them, J. H. Trot, who came to Ratanagiri in the first half of the nineteenth century, established a library there in 1828 under the name ‘Kokan Book Society’. Over time, it was renamed ‘Native General Library’. At that time, this facility was created mainly for British officers or upper-caste Indians residing there as a leisure activity with reading.

Kokan area Kelshi Zhila Parishad School Renovation

Maaydesh Foundation is rebuilding two ZP primary schools in Velas and Kelshi, with two more under discussion. Each school gets a new staff room, kitchen, storage, bathrooms, roof, and floors. Classrooms are upgraded with benches, TVs, and learning displays, creating a modern, safe, and engaging environment for students to learn and grow confidently.

Modernization of Bharat Itihas Sanshodhak Mandal-Pune

Maaydesh Foundation, in collaboration with Bharat Itihas Sanshodhak Mandal, is restoring the Mandal’s heritage building. Following an MOU signed on 14th October 2021 with late Shri Babasaheb Purandare, the foundation has revitalized the historic site into a modern facility, creating an inspiring space for the next generation of historians and cultural researchers.

Sawarkar Seva Kendra renovation

This sixty-year-old institution serves residents of Vile Parle East. People gather here to listen to music concerts, short stage performances, lectures, and discussions in its hall. The large Gym provides spaces for many classes, including martial arts, yoga, pilates, etc. Maaydesh Foundation is currently renovating full premises.

Kokan Area Velas Zilla Parishad Primary School Renovation

The Kokan Area Zilla Parishad School Renovation project focuses on upgrading the infrastructure and learning environment of government-run schools in the Konkan region. This initiative aims to improve educational facilities for rural students by renovating classrooms, new roof, floors, kitchen and bathrooms.

The Computer Installations for Zilla Parishad Schools initiative bridges the digital divide by equipping rural government schools with computers, educational software, and internet access. This project promotes digital literacy, encourages interactive learning, and empowers students with essential tech skills. It prepares them for academic success and future career opportunities in today’s increasingly digital world.
